Our Story...

Our story began when we met in the summer of 2012. I had just retired from my ballet career and was an undeclared major. Ben was an intern with Northrop Grumman while completing his degree in mechanical engineering. Meeting through mutual friends, both Ben and I did a sunrise hike on the 4th of July and our friendship began. Through ups and downs, we were friends for a year and a half before realizing that greater feelings resided. In December of 2014 we became exclusive and our lives changed forever.

Five years have since gone by. In that time we have grown as partners and as individuals. Ben became a full-time engineer. His career took him to Sunnyvale, CA for 18 months and has most recently brought him into the world of management with Northrop Grumman. Meanwhile, I graduated from nursing school and the Critical Care Internship Program and I now work in the Cardiovascular ICU.

 

We have been so lucky as to have had multiple adventures. Traveling to places like Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, Norway and domestic adventures galore. But our favorite adventure has been bringing our four legged baby, Sawyer into our family.

Through every piece of the last five years, our travels, our wins, our losses, our fights, our resolutions, raising Sawyer, long distance relationships, home ownership and so much more. Every day we wake up with gratitude and realize how enriched our lives are by each other.

On March 24, 2018, Ben took me and Sawyer on a hike behind our house. He setup a camera, wrung his hands in angst and approached an oblivious me as he said... "So, I have a question for you."
